MATCHO SUBA IS A MELBOURNE BASED FASHION DESIGNER WITH A VISION, A TALENT AND A DEDICATION TO PROVE WHAT FASHION DESIGN IS ALL ABOUT. Matcho is originally from Slovakia, who from a very young age, decided that one day he was going to be a fashion designer. With the belief he had in his love for fashion and design, Matcho took the bold leap of faith and moved away from home to the UK where he worked very closely with fashion designer Gareth Pugh as well as London Fashion Week for 4 years. And if you’re a reality TV fan, you may have also seen him on Project Runway Australia Season 3 last year.

I’ve only ever been able to experience Matcho’s pieces virtually, but what I experience last week at Matcho’s New Collection launch, Chernobyl, was something that I didn’t expect that completely blew my mind away. It was a one of a kind experience where I faced a complete sensory experience, from my eyes, to my ears, to my heart and my mind – All through the works’ of Matcho. The conceptualization of his new collection completely overthrew me. The bones behind the concept required research, emotion, insight, creativity and pure inspiration… and to be able to create an entire collection out of all of this, transforming it into a breathtaking work of fashion art, was a beautiful moment that I was glad to be apart of.

Matcho Suba is a pure creative genius, and I have not met anyone like himself.

I felt like the still photo’s I captured on the night couldn’t do his pieces enough justice so I was able to compile the runway photos from the night, and turn them into moving images, where hopefully – I can help your virtual experience feel a little more 3-Dimensional.

I want to congratulate Matcho on such a beautiful collection, one that I know everyone is envious of in admiration. Sometimes in your life you meet some really talented people, and then you meet the ones that inspire you. Matcho inspired me that night, and I hope he continues to inspire creative minds out there the way he did mine.

Til’ then troops, you can find the rest of the images on Facebook here.
