Got snapped and can’t find your photo? You can check out all the photos from the night on our facebook page here.

THE A[WEAR] EVENT WAS A COLLABORATION OF WHITEHOUSE INSTUTE AND PRAHRAN MISSION TO BRING TOGETHER A FUNDRAISER EVENT OF FASHION, MUSIC & DANCE. This being my first A[Wear] event, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. Hearing about the inclusion of music, fashion and dance all being elements of the night, this was one event I just had to check out for myself.

The room was absolutely buzzing with people as I walked into the room with the welcome of a heavy drum beat. The live band was a great element that fed the room it’s atmosphere whilst fashionites, celebrities, friends, partners and students exchanged social conversations with a beverage in hand. The fashion show was put together by third year styling students, led and mentored by industry heavyweight Phillip Boon (celebrity stylist), who amalgamated up and coming designer pieces with preloved clothing to create an eclectic & underground sense of style.

Heading down to the event that night, I wasn’t so sure what to expect. But walking out at the end of it, I was one delighted lady. The team at A[Wear] managed to pull of a multi-faceted event where all elements resonated so well together. Besides the live music, runway and dance, the art installation projection was a highlight for me as it brought a sense of artistic creativity into what was a large white room. Due to the projection installation, the lighting had to be turned down for the projection to work. This did slightly resulted in a slightly dim runway show, but overall – the models were still able to showcase the styling and clothing with character and sass. There was even a pop up room where designers and the Prahran Mission contributed pieces for people to buy and raise money during the event.

The event managed to raise a whopping $18,000+ for the Prahran Mission and I could not be any more happier than to see the contributions that were made to supporting a good cause. Big Cngratulations to the team for putting together an amazing event and I am already looking for to the next one. If you didn’t manage to catch this event, make sure you follow them on facebook here or on twitter to find out about their next one!

Til’ then Troops, I have some amazing photos up soon from Matcho Subo’s new collection launch party, Chernobyl which I will post up after Oh Jamie!’s birthday bash tonight.
